To ensure that our home is compliant we ensure that our staff receive high quality training from the moment they become employed within the company.
All staff members undergo a six-week specialise induction programme that is compliant with Skills for Care Guidelines and this is reviwed and upheld through observation, supervision and annual appraisals.
Staff receive mandatory training through qualified independents at the regular and required intervals in the following areas:
- Manual Handling
- First Aid
- Fire Awareness
- Infection Control
- Health & Safety
- Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults
- Medication Management
- Food Hygiene
We also encourage our staff to undertake specialist training such as; Dementia Awareness, Catheter Care, Diabetes Training, Stroke Awareness, Continence Training, Mental Capacity & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding, Nutrition, Falls Awareness, Care Planning, End of Life Care, Equality & Diversity, Tissue Viability, Mental Health Awareness and Record Keeping.
Each of our senior staff are trained to NVQ Level 3 or QCF equivalent and we aim to get all of our employees enrolled on at least a level 2 following commencing employment with Solomon Care. We believe that our robust training system allows us to provide high standards of care to our client base and adequately supports, educates and refreshes our staff's capabilities and awareness.
